PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENTS

Edworks offers psychological assessments including the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Revised (WISC R) and AGS Early Screening Profiles.

The WISC R is a general measure of intelligence, or IQ, that determines cognitive verbal and non-verbal ability and preferred learning style. It reflects intellectual potential irrespective of formal educational opportunities and is designed to assist parents and schools to better understand a child’s potential to learn, and the class strategies most suited to his/her learning style.

The AGS Early Screening Profiles is a program utilised to assess school readiness. It examines cognitive/language ability, logical relations, verbal concepts, visual discrimination and social readiness. It can be used in conjunction with the general observations of parents and kindergartens to determine a child’s ability to cope with the classroom environment and the educational demands of the first year at school.
