WHAT ARE PERSONAL PROGRAMS?
All programs conducted in-house at Edworks’ centres are on a personal basis.
Many students who join Edworks are seeking stimulation and extension. However, before any student joins Edworks Active Learning, parents or guardians are asked to complete a
Membership Form. This form, (often in conjunction with a telephone or personal discussion) gives Edworks important details that contribute to the design of each students’ personal
Progressive Educational Program. Such details usually include student strong points as well as the areas of interest that require skill development and/or extension.
The intrinsic value of Edworks’ Personal Programs is the stimulation and motivation offered through the dynamics of its environment. Here, each child can benefit within a social context where student role models offer inspirational examples of the successes achievable through Edworks’ programs.

During Edworks’ Active Learning sessions, each staff member interfaces with each student at the student’s desk, supervising the student’s personal program, teaching skills and strategies, setting targets for the student, and constantly offering positive assistance while monitoring the learning process. As this learning process begins, where appropriate, Edworks draws on students’ strengths to nurture and develop self-esteem. This leads to a greater sense of confidence in a student’s ability to achieve, and significant changes can be observed. Thus, as learning progresses, students are seen to:
- discard the fear of failure and become risk-takers in order to succeed
- become more motivated
- learn faster and achieve more
- be stimulated by the learning process
- become socially interactive
In learning and refining Edworks’ skills and strategies for ‘working smart’, students are equipped to not only advance academically during the year at hand, but to apply a comprehensive skills repertoire for success in everyday life – for life.
