PREPARATION: GRADES 3 AND 6; YEARS 8 AND 10 |

At Edworks' Centres, we offer Personal
Programs for private school Scholarship Preparation, preparation
for entrance to Accelerated Programs and secondary schools
such as Melbourne High School and MacRobertson Girls’
High School.
Such
positions are highly coveted. In thoroughly preparing students
for these exams, therefore, Edworks teaches innovative, exam-related
skills and strategies important for success.
There is no rote learning. Edworks’
innovative skill building take students beyond the practice effect
of exams and the classroom. Here, greater awareness and understanding,
rather than meaningless automatic responses, is central to
learning. In exam situations and beyond, this offers Edworks’
students an edge to set them apart from their peers. Key topics
include:
- Essay Writing – including
issue-based and creative essays incorporating structure
and projecting personality
- Advanced Comprehension
– developing Active Reading Skills and identifying
those skills appropriate for the task at hand

Solving’ as part of the structured thought process
- Logic and Reasoning –
developing lateral thinking and deductive reasoning into
a repertoire of advanced skills and strategies
- Examination Format Familiarisation
– familiarising students with the varied structure
and expectations associated with Selective Entrance and
